Rising artist EMLY is set to make her official debut with POV, a deeply personal EP that blends
RnB, Afrobeats, jazz, reggae, and Latin influences to create a sound that is both immersive and
deeply introspective. With raw storytelling and soulful vocals, EMLY invites listeners into her
world, offering a musical experience rooted in growth, identity, and self-discovery.
Born Emly Nwankwo in Port Harcourt and raised in Lagos, EMLY’s journey has been shaped by
experiences across Nigeria, Ghana, and France. A graduate of Ashesi University with a degree in
Electrical Engineering, she merges technical precision with raw emotion, crafting music that
reflects her personal evolution. Inspired by Nina Simone, Adele, Amy Winehouse, and Jorja
Smith, EMLY’s artistry is bold, introspective, and refreshingly authentic.
“This EP is a reflection of the emotions I’ve felt recently—pain, motivation, confusion, love,
anxiety, hope. Each track holds a piece of my story, and I want listeners to feel seen, understood,
and inspired,” she shares.
Collaborating with producers Cozykiyo, Dabzflp, and BeatsbyTrbl, EMLY pushes creative
boundaries while staying true to her sound. POV strays from conventional love themes, focusing
instead on resilience, self-worth, and the highs and lows of personal growth.
With this debut, EMLY marks her arrival as a force in contemporary music. As she gears up for
